The biggest challenge for me when it comes to starting a
project is procrastination. I always have the belief that I have plenty of time
before the project ends up due. This is not the worst thing to stop someone
from working. It is not a paralyzing fear that stops you from working. It is
worse. When a due date is two weeks away, almost anyone feels justified to put
it off before you start. My problem is I let the due date creep up far too
close. As the project continues to be unconcluded, I start to feel like the
project is getting larger, and that it will never be done in time. The biggest
problem with this, is that it is still easier to not deal with the pressure and
so the project gets pushed to the bottom of the “to do list.” Truthfully, I
have had times in my life where I have completely forgotten about an assignment
and when the due date comes, I have not even started it. This is my biggest problem
when it comes to school.
The only thing I can do to combat this is to write down the
assignments. I am not a teenage girl so I do not have a planner. I have a
whiteboard behind my computer that, before I open my computer when I start or
close it after I work, I see the assignments that I still have to do. This actually
has helped me significantly at college.
